Working Girl!

Campbell is a true girl, no doubt about it! She loves shoes, purses and phones! Mommy volunteered one of her purses so Campbell could have one. I bet Aunt Candy has plenty of purses Campbell can play with! Campbell will walk around the house saying, "shooee shooee" she will get upset if you don't put a shoe on her. They really light up her life.

She also LOVES to smile and loves the camera. I guess we're doing something right! I'm glad she's a happy girl! She is so loving and loves hugs and kisses! We just ask her to "love" on either someone or a stuffed animal and she kisses them.

Here is Campbell's beautiful new toddler bed! What a Blessing this was! Her crib was recalled and now she gets a new bed plus money back! Praise God! She didn't get out of her bed, she slept through the night and did so well. Daddy even got her to take a few naps in it! Yeah! I was so worried about her getting out of the bed. With a crib, you just plop them in it and walk away, they can't get out. But with a toddler bed, she can very easily get out. I'm so happy this transition went well, I wasn't looking forward to it, but it was fine as usual!

Here are a few photos from mommy's birthday, a visit from no name & Papaw, Campbell going to work, and Campbell's new toddler bed! Campbell's crib had been recalled due to some kind of stranglation, so the day we learned of that we took it back to Wal-Mart and got her a new pretty toddler bed! Her crib mattress fit her new bed just fine! (thanks Aunt GiGi)

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!! Shawn had an interview yesterday and is working today!!! WOO HOO!!!!! God is so faithful and so good! We are so blessed and excited!!!

Well it's been too long since our last update. We're here and doing well. Campbell is over a year now and loving life. She is not walking yet, but is taking huge strides to start walking. She has now started to throw little fits. Yes fits! Crying when she doesn't get her way, but no rolling on the floor like a crazy person...yet. She is learning new words and loves to read. She can say light a.k.a. ite, clock (oock) and loves the light isle at Lowes. She can climb on the couch at home now all by herself. It's amazing how much junk we had on the floor @ her level that we had to move! Most of it is going to go in a box now. It's amazing all the stuff (I've got to stop saying crap) they get into.

Grandma L came up for S's birthday and we went to the Animal Safari. The stupid ostrich's came up to the car window and tried to peck at us for food. I couldn't stand those things, they scared me. S and his mom would just laugh as S got the car closer and closer to the dumb birds on my side! Campbell didn't like them either.

This is the first of many years to come of coin rides. I'll carry a roll of quarters with me everywhere we go.

Here are some pics from Gulf Shores. We went about a month ago with my parents and had a blast. It was so nice for us to getaway and not think about the house or job stuff or anything. Campbell did not like the beach. I was surprised. She didn't like the sand and was scared of the water. I know she'll be a beach girl when she gets older. The ocean is so awesome to watch, the waves rolling in, the clouds in the sky, the dolphins playing.

Yeah for Easter! We were so excited that this year Campbell could hunt for eggs. Well sort of. Mom helped her just a little bit! But she did put the eggs in the basket all by herself. She really seemed to enjoy that and the candy. No we didn't voluntarily give it to her, she found it all by herself. She sucked the snickers right out of the package.

I am so thankful its spring! I'm ready for all the beautiful flowers and bright colored clothes! Here is Campbell doing her favorite thing...Being Outside! We go for walks all the time. Praise God I'll get down to my goal weight yet!She's crawling on the sidewalk. Her big toe has a little scuff on it, but her knees were fine.

She loves to put EVERYTHING in her mouth. If you look closely, you can see some bark debris.

It seems as though I've let the blog go........so here's a much needed update. Traveling seems to be a huge part of our life right now. S has been working in the Dallas area since November. I've been here and there with Campbell. We didn't see each other on Thanksgiving day, just to give S a break from all of the driving. Christmas was a blur. We didn't get the tree down here at home or get anything out of the attic, that was weird. Campbell's first Christmas was special though, we did spend time with both grandparents and we still have one more Christmas celebration on Feb 2. (my dad's sister and her family, it's always this late) Which makes it so much more fun! The house is still on the market, no bites, but it's God's timing not ours. That is what keeps me grounded lately, God is in control NOT me. I've been trying to read my Bible every day and it's so awesome to see scripture come to life. It's almost like a coincidence reading something then seeing it in my life. S got an email from a company in NWA so we'll see where that goes. We are just tired of this lifestyle. It's not fun only seeing your spouse on the weekends. But it could always be much worse. That's another thing that keeps me grounded. God Bless our friends & family who serve our country each and every day. My cousin just had his first child and he's off to Iraq AGAIN. Life is different for all of us, we just have to make the most out of what we are given. May this new year bring good health and blessings to you and yours.

We really had a lot of fun with Campbell. We drove all around my home town and some other towns trying to find a pumpkin-patch and we went back to moms house and within sight of her house is a large church that had thousands of pumpkins in their lawn for sale. It wasnt exactly a pumpkin patch, but we got some great pictures and had a lot of fun with the little squirt!

Campbell has been eating sweet potatoes today. Believe it or not, she gets most of it in her mouth .She's trying to be independent. She will grab the spoon and chew on it. Not really got the concept of feeding herself down just yet.

The way the light hits her face, you can see she's staring to grow more and more hair. This girl told me to massage her head and it will help her hair grow. To be honest I thought she was crazy, but it seems to be working. So I try to massage her head every day.

Yea for a negative culture. Campbell is doing fine and no more tummy issues. She's eating more veggies and fruits. She was starting to wake up in the middle of the night to eat when she had been sleeping all through the night before. S & I figured out that she wasn't getting enough to eat during the day. So we're making sure she gets her fruits and veggies every day now along with her regular milk.

If anyone has a great idea for organizing baby clothes let me know. Some things are so bulky they're hard to fold and store. Any ideas would be great. Right now I've got a dresser and a tall storage cabinet with baskets. She's got tons of clothes. Where they all came from I just don't know. She's growing so quick. She's wearing mostly nine months and some 12 month items.

S is in Dallas this week. He went for his final set of interviews yesterday and will start work tomorrow. So we're excited, but not happy about being apart during the week. But I'm working some so that's keeping me busy. I'm having a garage sale this weekend for my boss. She just moved and doesn't have the time to mess with it all, so she said if I put in on, she'd give me half of the profits. I can deal with that plus it helps her out too.

Campbell Flory is about the same. She is just dealing with her tummy issues and is still a little cranky. We should hear from the doctor today the results from the culture. (fancy word for stool sample) Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Things are going well this week. We spent some time in the Dallas area while S looked for jobs. We were able to stay with his aunt & uncle down there. S has an interview on Mon. in the big Tex, but it's only temporary work. That will buy us sometime and keep the funds flowing until something more permanent comes along. Yeah!

Campbell's belly has been bothering her so I might have to take her to the doctor on Mon. I'm hoping it will subside by then so I don't have to take her to the doctor. She is so tough. I just can't get over that a person so small can deal with things just like an adult.

6 months old! I just go by the weeks and not the acutal date from when she was born so she's 25 weeks old this week! How exciting! She's a tall, not fat, big kid. And a cute one if I must say so myself.

Sometimes I wonder what we should post and shouldn't post. We've got a lot of things going on right now, but there is this little voice telling me not to post certain things on the internet. So I'll just share a little bit. S spent all of last week in the big Tex looking for another job. He's probably applied at over 50 places. Nothing has come up yet. I'm trying to be the "rock" for our family right now and it's not that easy. I've found myself asking God (today) when will you provide a new job for S? I've told Campbell it's God's timing not our own and I've just got to be patient. I'm trying not to be the whiner I've always been when times are tough, but I'm getting impatient. Why does God let us hang for awhile and the when we reach a breaking point he pulls through? I'm all about being stretched and growing in my faith, but this is tough. Well enough about us before I start to whine. I've decided I'm going to try to have as much faith as I can through this, so please pray for us. Please also pray for my good friend Bekah and her baby girl "M". M is having surgery on her eye on Friday. She's only 2 months old. I know she's stressing about this right now too. I know I would be if it was little Campbell. Thanks for reading.

We had a speedy trip a couple of weekends ago. It was my sister's birthday, my birthday, and my mother-in-law's birthday. Wow lots of Birthdays! So we left friday afternoon went to my mom's, had lunch with my grandparents and a few aunt's & uncles on sat. then after lunch we went to see S's mom. Our parents are about 2 hours apart. Not too terribly bad, but Campbell rides in the car so well that it makes the trip a lot nicer. We took Grandma to a mexican resturant where her sister, brother, best friend and newphew were waiting! She was so surpried! She didn't have a clue!

We're slowly graduating into a big girl car seat. Last week at the Dr.'s she weighed 17lbs and 14.4oz. Her first car seat only goes to 20lbs. So S & I debated and researched and finally decided on a Britax car seat from Target. They are rated #1 in safety and she seems really comfortable in it. She'll be out of the little car seat really soon. S thinks she's growing at a rate of 1.5lbs per month. So by Halloween she'll be in the Britax for good.

So we got to my mom and dad's and it was hot so we decided to let Campbell swim. The water was right at 90 degrees, so it was just like bath time. We put her in her birthday suit, put her in the swim ring and she was in heaven. She was so relaxed and laid back (just like her daddy). It was no names idea to put her in her birthday suit, she said she didn't care if Campbell t t'd in the pool. But when Campbell got out of the pool, she t t'd on no name's leg.

Ok...yes It's been a long time since I've updated. I can almost hear Keistha telling me to update through the monitor. =)
We've been doing great. Not much new. Campbell has discovered she has toes. She loves to grab her feet and can almost suck on her toes. She's very talkative now and likes to make noises. ohhhcarraaa ummmmm are just some of the fun sounds she's making now. She's also fitting into some 12 month stuff now. I put a 3-6 month onesie on her yesterday and S said it looked like a wetsuit on her. Yikes way to small already. She's just growing, but she's not a chunk. Even though some strangers have called her that. I don't like that word, but she doesn't know what people are saying so who cares right?
My birthday is coming up next week and I'm excited, but not excited about getting older. But as my mom would say "that's just a part of life." No news really on the house. The guy who looked at the house we'll just call him "D". I called D's sister and she said he was still interested ,but he just wanted to get a lower rate on his mortgage. So that's all we know. We're loving the house being done so it's all good. I'll try to get some good photos of her and post later on today. Hope you all are doing great! We miss everyone!

*Update on the House*
The guy came and looked on Sunday with his sister her husband and their kids. He really didn't say much. There are only two things that he said that we could even get a hint. One of them was, "what is your timeline for being out? October would work best for me." Ok so what does that mean? I want it? Ohh I hope so. Yeah I know it's early and he's the first person to look, but I just get really excited and I like to know things. I'm a planner as much as I hate to admit it. S told him he was thinking about putting a microwave above the stove and taking out the vent hood, the guy said, "don't worry about it, I've already got a mircowave." So that's all we have to go on. He didn't talk a whole lot, but this is a learning experience for us and I'm really excited that he might buy the house. We got it appraised on Friday and I was really glad to hear that we've made some great improvments. She said for the size of the house, and the year built, we're in the upper end of the market. SWEEET! She said don't do anything else. I thought she must have read my mind. No more projects to do! Woo hoo! So we shall see what happens.

Hello to all. S & I have someone coming to look at our house on Sunday. So needless to say we are busting our rumps trying to get it in tip top shape. I've been painting the trim this afternoon. We're hanging the last cabinet in the kitchen hopefully tomorrow night. Today is our anniversary. 4 years. Today Campbell is 16 weeks old (4 months) Pretty Neat! So we've decided to go out to eat and watch a movie (probably Harry Potter) and not worry with the house stuff tonight. I hope and pray it will all get done before the guy sees the house on Sunday. Pray for us! I'll post some cute pics of the baby here soon. Thanks for reading! We love you guys!

Long Post

Well its been a while since I've posted. So I'm going to just kinda ramble on here for a little bit. So come back to the blog later if you just wanted to see pictures. If not feel free to read my ramble and leave a comment.

We've been traveling. S took Mon. & Tues. off so we went to visit his mom and on the way home we went and saw my mom and dad. It was nice to see everyone. Campbell enjoyed all the grandparents and got her first piggy bank. It's pink of course with a tutu and a tiara. (I'll add pics later on today, I can't find the right usb cord)

She's no longer wearing 0-3 month clothes. She fit into a 12 month dress yesterday. Well I think the brand ran small b/c she shouldn't be in 12 months. You know some brands are much smaller in certain sizes like Old Navy for example. It's weird to see her grow. I guess for some reason I thought she'd stay this small forever. I'm happy she's growing and getting bigger. This being a parent thing is still sinking in sometimes (in a good way)

The 4th was great. It was just a beautiful day. We went to the neighbors down the street and grilled out. We've been here over a year and we've finally gotten to know our neighbors. They shot fireworks and 1 was really really loud. I held Campbells ears and tried to hold mine with my elbows. That looked funny. It rained just as everyone was leaving which worked out perfectly.

One of the ladies down the street has a girl who will be one year this month so she's been very helpful with baby questions. She's also got two other kids who are 8 & 5? I've borrowed some clothes from her, but Campbell is probably wearing the same size as her kid now. So I can share with her!

SELLING THE HOUSE - yes we've decided to sell. Our neighbor down the street has a brother who loved our house before we even bought it. We ended up buying it and now he's ready to own his first house. So we've decided if we've got someone interested then why not sell. We'll probably rent here locally until we find something else. We'll just have to see about all of this. I hope and pray that this guy will want the house. I've been praying for the next owner for a while now so maybe this is an answered prayer.

Ok I'm done rambling now. Campbell and I have a lunch date with S and his old co-workers. They haven't seen her so we're getting together for lunch.

Shots Today

Well, Campbell got her shots today. A toal of 4 shots and some kind of liquid she had to digest. She screamed bloody murder and that was really hard on me. After it was over, I just held her and loved on her and she finally quit crying. She's fine now. The nurse gave us some Tylenol so we'll see if we need to give her some more as the day goes on.

On a much brighter note, she did well on the growth chart. (the growth chart isn't that important, each kid grows differently and will eventually get where they need to be - anyway, that's what I think) So I'm not rubbing it in that she's in the 97th percentile for weight and the 95th percentile for height. I'm just glad she's healthy. He says she's eating just the right amount of food. That surprised me b/c I thought she might be eating too much. So in about 4 weeks we'll start on solid foods. I'm going to try to make her baby food if I can. 1 because I think it will be fun and 2 b/c it's cheaper. A good friend told us to start with veggies instead of fruit, so we'll try that.

3 Months Old!

Time is flying by just like everyone said! Campbell Flory is now 3 months. It's so crazy that only 3 months ago we didn't have a baby, and now we do! Here are some fun pics of her. She's sleeping through the night. Her bed time for the past 2 1/2 weeks was anywhere between 11:30 and 12:30am. I don't know why she would just stay up until then. I never went to bed that late. But last night she feel asleep around 9:45pm. I was so excited! She woke up around 6:15 this morning. So maybe we can get her to start going to sleep eariler.

Glasses & Ovens don't mix

Ok let me explain....We were hungry for pizza and we bought one of those 16" ones at Wal-Mart. So you know it's a take and bake kind of thing. Well I was checking on the pizza to make sure it was done. I took it out the first time and decided it needed another 10 min or so. Well after that 10 min was up, I went back to check on it. I opened the oven door, my glasses fogged up I fumbled with the pizza and it landed upside down on the floor. Yikes! This is the second time I've done this. The first time was with a Papa Murphy pizza about a 8 months ago. I don't think I can be trusted with baking pizzas. Cookies, brownies, and cakes I'm good at but for some reason, pizzas aren't my thing. Needless to say, we didn't eat pizza that night.

Dear S,

I just want you to know that you are such a wonderful dad! I could not have asked for a better mate for God to bless me with. Campbelll loves you so much. (you are the only other person that she's tried to nurse from besides me) The way you've dived into being a dad is amazing. Chaning diapers and making bottles every night means so much. Today I was watching Sara Grooves new movie, Just Showed Up For My Own Life. For those of you that don't know who Sara Grooves is, she's a contemporary Christian artist. Well anyway, the movie is about her trip to Africa, and how she and her church in Minnesota helped hurricane Katrina victims. It is very touching. I cried. Sara used the quote in the move and I liked it, so I just thought it would touch others too.

Campbell is just sleeping next to me enjoying Sara's concert at the end of the DVD. She started sleeping through the night 2 weeks ago. I was a little worried, I thought won't she get hungry? But everyone I've talked to says her sleeping through the night is a great thing. (Mostly moms) so of course, we are letting her sleep.

She is such a great baby. Praise God! She doesn't fuss unless we're not feeding her fast enough. She loves to smile and laugh and talk now. My mom really brought that out in her. It's so great to see her smile. I just about cry every time she smiles at me. It is so awesome to have this little being look up at you and just smile. What a blessing. Who would have thought that something so simple can mean so much. I guess this being a mom thing is gonna be a great ride after all.

Last week, Campbell and I went on a journey to visit family. S had to work so he didn't get to go. We missed him so much! We went camping with papaw and no name (my mom hasn't found the perfect "grandma" name yet, so any suggestions please let us know). She really seemed to like camping. We "camped" in a 5th wheel which makes it more fun. T.V. nice warm bed you know. She saw her great grandma and grandpa down in rice country. It was hot, but she had a good time. We didn't get to see everyone we wanted, but maybe soon we'll travel more. It's hard with her being so small, I don't like her to be in her car seat for soo long. She started to sweat in her little seat so we took the fleece cushion thingie out. That should help. She started to talk and laugh and coo more. I think my mom brought it out in her. Everytime mom would talk to her she would smile really big and just laugh laugh laugh. Hopefully we'll see her other Grandma real soon! We miss you grandma.

2 months old!!

Our Campbell Flory girl is now 2 months old! Wow how time flies! She'll go for her 2 month check up next week and get her first round of shots! Yikes! I'm really not looking forward to that appointment. S will be there to make sure we survive. Campbell is growing and getting bigger everyday. I'm going to start using the stroller. I didn't before because I didn't think I needed it, but now she's getting heavier. Sure she's only 11lbs or so, but when you put that in a carrier, wow it turns to like 50lb. Well not really, but it sure feels like it! We hope all of you are doing well! We miss everyone so very much. Let us know how you're doing! Love you guys!

Wow time flies when your having fun! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I'll try to get better at this. Being a new mom is fun and I'm still learning how to juggle time and make the most of it. Well the Doc saw us on Thurs. and Fri. of last week. Campbell gained a few grams, but it wasn't impressive enough for the good Doctor so we are supplementing with formula. About 1oz after every feeding. So this is a good thing as my friend Beth pointed out, she's getting the best of both worlds.

At her weigh in today she had gained around 3 oz. Yeah! Who would have thought having a kid would be so very interesting and complicated at the same time. We are so grateful to all of our friends & family for your concern and prayers. She's getting healthier every day.

Campbell Update

Well it's never a dull moment around our place. We brought her home on Sat., saw her Dr. on Wed. and ended up in the hospital on that same Wednesday. Jaundis was to blame for our little trip back to the hospital. Her Jaundis level was a 21. It was ironic to me that only 1 week before I was admitted to the hospital to have her. They put her under Bili lights and put an I.V. in her. This helped bring her level down. We left the hospital the very next day (thurs) and her level was 13.6. The doctor let us go home, but we had to keep her under the lights at home for another 24 hours. We visited the doctor on Saturday, having her blood drawn to check her level. Her level had gone up less than 1 point, but they said this was completely normal and should go down from here. Did I mention she had lost over 1 pound since birth? This wasn't looking too good either. So we went to the Doctor on Monday of this week. Surprise, her level had gone up to a 15 and she still hadn't gained any weight. She lost weight again. Yikes! So, I'm making double sure she eats every two hours, and stays in the indirect sunlight as much as possible. I'm praying that this jaundis level never ever goes up, but will only go down from here on out. Please also pray that she will gain weight at a healthy rate and not lose any more right now. We plan to go back to the Dr. on Thurs. of this week and get her weighed and her blood drawn yet again. Thanks for your prayers!

This is the latest shot of Nacho & me. I didn't really realize I was that round, but that's ok. It will all be over soon, and the nacho will be revealed!

My Doctor said, "your cervix is doing a big fat nothing". Isn't that comforting? Geeze does that mean this kid will never get here? I finally hit the 39th week yesterday! So I'm just hoping & praying I won't go over my due date. The doctor would like to enduce labor next thurs. @ 5:30 am(wow that's early) She's worried b/c she thinks the baby will be HUGE!

I had another ultrasound today and the baby is approx. 8.6 lbs give or take 15% they say. So we will have to see when the nacho will decide to come on out. Thanks for all of your prayers and guesses about when the baby will get here. It's fun to see who's reading the blog.

I've had a suggestion from Beth. She said to let everyone guess what we're having and how big it will be and when it will get here. Yes we all know it's a baby, but what do you think - boy or girl? How about we give a prize to whoever comes the closest. So guess the sex, weight, and day of arrival and you could win! (what I don't know yet, but it will be something good)

Today is March 7, 2007! Our due date is March 29th! Wow we've only got 23 days to go! (unless this kiddo decides to come out early) We go for out last ultra sound tomorrow morning @ 10:30. We are so excited and can't wait to see the baby. We could be tempted to find out the sex of the baby, but I'm still content on waiting until the baby comes out. We'll just have to see what happens. Please pray for us as we deal with these last few weeks. My energy level has gone to about a 1. I'm taking it easy and resting as much as possible.

Here is a picture of me at my work shower. It was so nice to have co-workers and clients come out to support us! It was a great shower and we received many gifts. Some of the people at work took up donations and purchased a stroller, car seat, and swing (that all match I might add)! We were so surprised! What a Blessing!

Final Month

We've finally hit the wonderful 9th month of pregnancy! Here is a picture of us at our last shower this past weekend. It was such a beautiful shower. Thanks to all of our friends and family who really made us feel so very special. We were spoiled by their love and gifts. We are so Blessed!

The dad to be didn't stay for the entire shower, but he showed up just to say hello and pin my corsage on me! It's hard to see my belly b/c of the black shirt, but I feel pretty big right now!

I'm hoping my belly consists of a little baby, but mostly water! =) We'll just have to see! I'm doing pretty good right now. I'm sleeping ok, but it's really hard to get around for a long period of time and my feet are swelling. I have to tip my hat to all of the prego's that have gone before me. Pregnancy is a blessing, but a tough one at times.

5 Weeks to go and counting!

Today marks the 35th week! We are really excited about this baby and can't wait until her or she gets here. (for those of you that don't know, we are choosing to let the sex of the baby be a surprise!) We've got the baby's room ready, but the baby will sleep next to our bed in a pack 'n play for a while. I'm getting a little nervous about the whole birth, letting the baby into the world part, but I'll get through it. I can't live in fear. God doesn't give us the spirit of fear as my husband would quickly remind me. We'll just take these next weeks week by week and hope and pray for the best.

The doc says the baby is healthy and the heartbeat sounds great! Someone asked me today if I was having a "scheduled" birth. I told them nope, the baby will get here whenever he or she is ready!

Wow this blog thing is kinda fun! I was a little afraid I wouldn't know what to say or type, but it's not too hard to think of something to say!
